چکیده

Since the end of the 2005-2006 austral summer, the IceCube detector consists of an array of 9 strings, deployed between 1450 m and 2450 m of depth and containing 540 digital optical sensors and 16 IceTop surface stations with 64 sensors. With the integrated AMANDA-II experiment this is the world’s largest neutrino telescope in operation. The construction status of IceCube is presented along with an update on physics performance study for the detection of high energy neutrinos. The potential of the full km-scale telescope in the search for astrophysical sources is also addressed.

Detection potential to point - like neutrino sources with the NEMO - km 3 telescope

The NEMO Collaboration is conducting an R&D activity towards the construction of a Mediter-ranean km 3 neutrino telescope. In this work, we present the results of Monte Carlo simulation studies on the capability of the proposed NEMO telescope to detect and identify point-like sources of high energy muon neutri-nos.

KM3NeT: A Next Generation Neutrino Telescope in the Mediterranean Sea

To complement the IceCube neutrino telescope currently under construction at the South Pole, the three Mediterranean neutrino telescope projects ANTARES, NEMO and NESTOR have joined forces to develop, construct and operate a km-scale neutrino telescope in the Mediterranean Sea. Since February 2006, the technical specifications and performance of such a detector are studied in the framework of a...

Status and First Results of the Antares Neutrino Telescope

The ANTARES (Astronomy with a Neutrino Telescope and Abyss environmental RESearch) Collaboration constructed and deployed the world’s largest operational underwater neutrino telescope, optimised for the detection of Cherenkov light produced by neutrino-induced muons. The detector has an effective area of about 0.1 km and it is a first step towards a kilometric scale detector. The detector consi...
